Reviews - I love them!

Posted by mandybaggot on July 27, 2012 at 3:50 AM

A quick blog today and a little bit of an appeal! I am looking for reviews! If there are any book bloggers/reviewers out there who would like to read an e-copy of my latest novel Taking Charge please get in touch by email mandybaggot@sapphirestarpublishing.com or through Twitter or Facebook or wherever else you can find me!

I love reviews! Of course I adore the four and five star ones much more than the one and two star ones but I learn something from every single review! It might not always be something I like hearing but everybody's opinion counts and I always find it amazing how different we all are - what we like, what gets under our skin, how someone can fall in love with a hero and others will find him irritating etc. Us writers love to hear what you think because essentially we write for our readers and if I can enhance the experience and I'm not currently cutting it then let me know! I can't promise I'll change but I'll certainly take things on board!

So that being said, if you've read one of my novels, have you reviewed it on Amazon? I know time is a factor for us all but those Amazon reviews can really help authors become more visible and help increase a book's popularity. If you can spare a quick moment to give the book a review I would be really, really grateful. And if you don't have time for a review a 'like' or a 'tag' also work wonders!

Now I feel like I've made one of thos heartfelt appeals for homeless puppies! Sorry guys!

I hope everyone has a great weekend lined up - it's the start of Olympics 2012 here! Where's that Union flag? I'm not allowed to call it a Union Jack now am I?

Oops - pretty sure I have a copy tucked away somewhere - that TBR pile is just so big!
Glad you have had such good review experiences - reading Owen sounds like they can be scary too!

Perfectly put, Mandy. Reader reviews are uber-important to writers. The four and five star are ecstatic-inducing, of course they are. You just want to kiss people and frame them (the reviews, that is). They really make you feel as if you have achieved what you set out to do: to connect emotionally with people. All reviews though are valuable learning tools I don't think there are many authors who wouldn't take the comments on board, given they were fair. Why expect people to read and value your efforts if you don't value the reader's opinion. Well done you!
