Tell me about your latest work/work in progress in no more than 30 words

Running from abusive relationships, Kevin and Sylvia fall in love while camping in Baja. Will their love survive when their abusers hunt them down?

Tell me your writing dream

My writing dream is to publish books that people will read and tell their friends about.

Tell me more about you – where do you live? Tell me about your hobbies and what you do in your spare time when you’re not writing

I live on Vancouver Island. I like gardening, mushroom picking, and camping; mostly things that come with rural life, except I must always have access to my computer.

Tell me what you like to watch on television – are you a soap addict or a fan of period dramas for instance?

I like to watch a good drama.

Favourite band/singer – have you seen them in concert?

I loved the music of Crosby, Stills, and Nash in their day, but also loved Pavarotti’s singing.

Favourite genre of fiction and/or favourite novel or author

I love a good page turner that involves human relationships in a setting that is new to me, so I will come away having learned something. I enjoyed reading “A Fine Balance” by Rohinton Mistry, and I like the writing style of Vancouver Island’s own Jack Hodgins.

Quiz

In my novel ‘Knowing Me Knowing You’ Kate and Joel take part in a relationship contest a bit like ‘Mr & Mrs’. I thought it would be fun if you could answer their quick fire questions and readers of the page can make what they will from your answers! Choose one from the following pairs e.g. savoury or sweet based on your gut reaction to the words. Remember it’s quick fire!

Savoury or Sweet? Savoury

Action or relaxation? Action

Up or down? Up

Tea or coffee? Coffee

Nightclub or wine bar? Wine bar

Ferrari or Porsche? Porsche

Truth or dare? Truth

Gym or bed? Bed

Flower or tree? Flower

Hot or cold? Hot

Bruce Forsyth or Dick Van Dyke? Dick Van Dyke

Thank you for joining me, Anneli - it was a pleasure to have you in The Lady's Lounge!

Mandy xx

Mushroom picking - wow, always wanted to do that Anneli but scared I'd pick the poisonous ones! Congrats with your second novel, Orion's Gift sounds amazing and I can't wait to read it. Only Lady Baggot could have a leopoard print sofa.... ha! ha!

I only pick the ones I know, mainly chanterelles. It's so quiet in the woods and there's always something to see. As long as it's not a bear, that makes me happy.

Trying again. Hope my comment doesn't pop up twice now. Just wanted to thank Sheryl for swelling my head with flattery. But I really am glad you enjoy my writing. Hope you'll have a chance to read Orion's Gift one day. And now, pass the chips, please.

Thanks to those who are using their Kindles. What a bargain is available to readers by downloading e-books. I hope you enjoy the love, suspense, drama, and romance in Orion's Gift. The trip through the Baja peninsula I used as a setting is a bonus - something a little different..

Thank you for dropping into the Lady's Lounge everyone. I can't wait to read Anneli's book, it sounds just my sort of read! Passing round the kettle chips and who's up for more tea? I'll break out the harder stuff (wine and brandy) later!
